PS3 production costs down 35 percent - still selling at a loss

According to research firm iSuppli, PS3’s manufacturing costs are now down 35 percent compared with 2007.

DSi sells over 1 million in Japan

Who needs a tiny camera in their DS? A million Japanese people, apparently.
IGN’s reporting that DSi has now sold more than 1 million units in Japan, based on Enterbrain figures.
The handheld revision beat the milestone yesterday, December 21.
It launched in Japan on November 1, and will release in both the US and Europe next year.

EA to close Black Box

After earlier reports outlining EA’s plans to fire 400 and close nine studios, it seems the first outfit to be axed is Need for Speed developer Black Box.
According to IGN, many of the studio’s staff are being relocated to EA’s Burnaby and British Columbia facilities.
