MTV’s Stephen Totilo is mixing things up over at Multiplayer, first redesigning the site to look oddly familiar, now posting odd, news-light videos.
Totilo’s first stab at irrelevant videos is a quick tour through some of the game-related crap he discovered in his desk while cleaning out the office. Included in the list: wooden Pac-Man ghost, Mario patch, and business cards, including one that actually has “CliffyB” printed on it. Oh Dude Huge.

Masatomo Ueda likes Patapon. A lot more than you or I like Patapon. He likes it so much he’s not only got himself a Patapon tattoo, but made himself Patapon prey in the process.
See? They’re marching, relentlessly, on their way across his shoulders to hunt, then kill, his face. Cute, but for the first few mornings looking in the mirror, probably also a little terrifying.

Been looking for months now, but I just haven’t found a PS3 theme that beats the original wavy lines one that comes with the console. Well, I hadn’t. Have now.
m0dus & orioto, a couple of kids on GAF, have whipped up this homemade Gunstar Heroes theme. All HD, all hand-drawn, like the Gunstar Heroes: Rearmed that only exists in your dreams.
It’s even got custom icons! Perfect.

Manga with saucy female content is nothing new at all. Ditto for erotic games. But a manga about female erotic game makers making shojo erotic games?
R18! follows Rikako as she gets a job… at an erotic game company. The entire company is staffed with the types of ladies one would expect in a manga like that. (No surprises there!)
The manga’s spin is that Rikako is inexperienced sexually and thrusting her into the adult game world is a classic fish-out-of-water construct. Like Crocodile Dundee, minus the enormous norgs and purple hair.

After novelist Sir Salman Rushdie published The Satanic Verses, many deemed the book blasphemous. The Ayatollah of Iran issued a decade long fatwa, calling for Rushdie’s death. How did he spend that time?
“Like everybody else I played a computer game or two,” he tells The Times. (Well, like everyone else who has to go in hiding or be murdered…)
Does that mean the author is a game? As game site GameCulture points out, Rushdie didn’t exactly seem impressed with video games in a 2008 interview he gave: “I think video games, YouTube, you know, these are the things that will change the world. Because when people see what garbage everybody else is consuming, they want it too.” Oh, burn, take that video games!

Why, hello there. It’s that time again, time to remind seasoned vets and newcomers alike how to comment right here on Kotaku. Things to keep in mind:
We ban. A lot. Every second of everyday. And that’s not all! We disemvowell, too. (Bcs n vwlls s fnny!)
We also reward stellar commenters with stars, and commenters can reward each other with Hyper Multi-Tap nominations. Swell.
Why do we do this? Well… Have you visited other sites? Not everyone who reads Kotaku comments, and some of those individuals perhaps, just perhaps, would like to read intelligent, insightful remarks from smart people, not dribble from dummies!
Here’s a helpful guideline for commenting from sister site Lifehacker. Read it, learn it, live it, love it.

Upon their death, great men are afforded a sending off befitting of their stature. Pity Tabular Rasa, then, as EB Games in Canada seems more content to roll its lifeless corpse into the nearest ditch.
Reader Shane sends these pics of a dumpster behind his local outlet. Those aren’t display copies. They’re sealed, retail ones. Guess “free to a good home” doesn’t mean much when no good home wants it.

Left 4 Dead is scary. Paper? Not so scary. But paper folded to appear as though the paper takes the form of Left 4 Dead’s scariest bad guy, THE TANK? OK. That’s…scary enough.
You can download a pack containing the outlines and instructions here.

There are smart people, and there are dumb people. Here is the story of a dumb person, her credit cards and a Nintendo Wii.
Over at game forum NeoGAF, member HUELEN10 told the following tale. We cannot vouch for the validity of it, but here goes:
My neighbors which I don’t really know to well to begin with, got their kids a Wii for Xmas. They got no games for it, but they did get a Classic Controller as well as an additional Nunchuck Combo and a carrying case. They asked me what games they recommended, and I decided to recommend them the Animal Crossing City Folk/Wii Speak bundle, Wario Land Shake It,Mario Kart Wii, and Super mario Galaxy. I also recommended them some VC games including Super mario World, and Sonic 2 8-bit.
Anywho, the Mom asks me what VC is, and I told her. I told her that all she needed to do was put in her credit card when prompted on the Shop Channel, and get the amount of points she wanted. I also told her what WiiSpeak is, and how to connect her Wii to the internet via an ethernet connection.
Anywho, I got a call today from the mom telling me that the Wii is not working. I asked what was wrong and you won’t believe it………
SHE PHYSICALLY PUT 3 CREDIT CARDS INTO THE DISC SLOT.
HOW STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Also while putting the Wii Speak on top of her sensor bar, she apparently cracked it open. Just ugh. I told her she has to cancel her cards and call Nintendo for a 75USD repair, and now she expects ME to pay for this. Her husband is on my side of the issue, but she is steaming at me right now. Seriously, she put in 1, and thought that that one could not be accepted, so she kept putting them in and they will not come out. I might try to remove them tomorrow with her hubby while she is away on a business trip.
There are pics, so that must mean it happened, no? We just checked the SUPER SAFE Japanese Wii manual, and there’s nothing about not putting your credit cards in your Wii. Though, there is a warning about putting a four leaf clover in it. So don’t go doing that!
