Softpedia: Need For Speed Undercover Review
November 30th, 2008 · No Comments
Softpedia writes: "Need For Speed Undercover promised to bring back all of the things that made Electronic Arts’ famous racing franchise so popular, namely the free roaming environment and the police. It was marketed by EA as the title that would erase the ugly memory of ProStreet from the minds of racers and offer them a great gameplay experience.
While at first glance you might label this game as just a next generation port of the previous Most Wanted title in the NFS series, EA has insisted that this one was very different from the 2005 title. The company went forward to show that it had a deep and intricate story in which you are a federal agent who must take down a car smuggling operation by going undercover and pretending to be a normal street racer."
NXE Countering Jasper’s Benefits?
November 30th, 2008 · No Comments
Split-Screen writes: "Microsoft’s new Jasper chipset appears to address the burgeoning Red Ring of Death woes. But with the New Xbox Experience only compounding these problems in the older systems, you really have to question whether Microsoft’s long over-due fixes with Jasper won’t be hampered by the same. Especially since NXE glitches, like the RRoD and overheating, are yet to be amended."

Japan: Square Enix 2008 Unit Sales Down Nearly 74%
November 30th, 2008 · No Comments
Japan - The seismic effects of market shifts and economic gloom in combination with a rather short release list have made a significant impact for Square Enix. In 2007, twenty-two releases spread across five systems (DS, PSP, PS2, Wii, 360) added up to a shockingly huge 6.4 million units sold.
In contrast, Square Enix’s 2008 effort of ten releases across four systems (DS, PSP, Wii, 360) resulted in a far lesser 1.7 million units sold.* This is a 4.5 million unit difference and is a eye-popping 73.81% decline from 2007.

Gears of War 2 User Complaints
November 30th, 2008 · No Comments
Softpedia: "Gears of War 2 was probably one of the most expected shooters this holiday season and one of the hottest Xbox 360 exclusives that Microsoft promoted. The sequel to a very popular shooter, this game promised to bring back the same non-stop action and excellent gameplay that gained the first title so many fans.
A lot of tweaks were made to this new game, including a revamped cover system, a new story that focused more on romance, instead of the mindless violence, and some new weapons and multiplayer modes. But sadly, not many of the changes were very good, as quite a bunch of users have complained that things were changed from the first game for no reason whatsoever, and that now, a lot of problems have made them resell their copy or throw it on a shelf to gather dust."
