According to this Gamespot story, Microsoft has announced price drops on Xbox 360 add-ons in Australia overnight.
The wireless racing wheel sees the biggest price drop, falling from A$199.95 ($170.73) to the new price point of A$149.95 ($128.02).
Also down is the 120GB HDD, dropping from A$229.95 ($196.95) to A$199.95.

Microsoft has just announced that Fallout 3 will release in Japan on December 4.
The game will release on October 28 in North America and October 31 In Europe.
The news comes from an Xbox 360 media briefing in Tokyo, which is ongoing.

The Nikkei’s reporting that Microsoft is to drop the price of Xbox 360 in Japan, the cost of an Arcade model dropping 8,000 yen ($73.92) to 19,800 yen.
The new price will make the SKU significantly cheaper than Wii, which sells for about 25,000 yen, and PS3, which sells for 39,800 yen.

I knew that ‘Crashers’ was going to be big, but the market provided Crashers with a very robust opening, rivaling many boxed titles. It’s already over $1.1 million USD in revenue, and has a very good shot at 250,000 before it’s first month is over.

Left 4 Dead 411 has received official word from Doug Lombardi that Left 4 Dead will release on November 18th in the U.S. and November 21st in Europe. Doug Lombardi responded to our request for confirmation on Gabe Newell’s recent statement on a Nov 20th release.

Good news for those in the U.S., sorry to those in Europe.

Coverage of Fable II has been strung out over years now, but GameSpy finally got some serious hands-on time with the combat system at PAX ‘08, as well as an in-depth look at the dynamics of its open-world, that made all of the build-up seem worthwhile. Even in the 10 or so week-old preview build that we played today, in which framerate hitches and animation miscues were still evident, the bones of some pretty sweet gameplay were also present, so cautious optimism seems justified. Throw in morally ambiguous sandbox gameplay that seems to reward both cruelty and kindness in equal measure (although with decidedly different "prizes") and it looks like the notoriously ostentatious claims of Lionhead Studios kingpin Peter Molyneux may not be so outlandish after all.

Spiffy:

Your dog participates in fights; lots of conversational options; surprisingly deep economic structure.

Still has framerate issues; working a "job" while playing a game seems odd.

IGN writes: "One of the most popular games at PAX is Gears of War 2 at the Microsoft booth. The booth featured ten stations set up for five-on-five multiplayer. And these stations were not only never empty, but the line to get some face time with the Locust was consistently four or five deep. On tap at PAX this morning was the Guardian multiplayer game where two teams of five set upon each other to hunt down the single Guardian, a designated player that — while alive — allows his teammates to re-spawn when killed".
